2019 BET Awards Simulcast Reportedly Brought In 12.7 Million Total Viewers

The star-studded event was the top program on social media.

(AllHipHop News) BET held its annual award show on June 23. According to the network, the broadcast brought in 12.7 million viewers across its simulcast on BET Her, MTV, MTV2, MTV Classic, Logo, TV Land, and VH1 with 5.3 million total viewers on BET.

With 6.3 million interactions across Facebook and Twitter, the 2019 BET Awards was the most social program on Sunday. It was the top trending topic on Twitter for 12 consecutive hours in the U.S. and the top trending topic worldwide for 8 consecutive hours.

Cardi B and Offset opened the show by running through "Clout" and "Press." The Hip Hop couple's performance trended at #1 on YouTube the next day. Additionally, the Bronx rapstress won Best Female Hip Hop Artist and Album Of The Year for Invasion Of Privacy.

Lizzo, Lil Nas X, Billy Ray Cyrus, H.E.R., YBN Cordae, Migos, DJ Khaled, Meek Mill, Lil Baby, Jeremih, Marsha Ambrosius, John Legend, DaBaby, Kirk Franklin, and more acts also performed. Regina Hall served as the host for the evening.

Rihanna presented the Lifetime Achievement Award to Mary J. Blige. Filmmaker Tyler Perry was honored with the Ultimate Icon Award. The family of Nipsey Hussle received the Humanitarian Award on the late rapper's behalf.
