Then the 26-year-old was thrust into an international controversy when it was revealed the United Kingdom national was living in the United States for years under an expired visa.
The Atlanta-raised hitmaker may not be able to leave the country, but that is not stopping him from crisscrossing America for the "I Am > I Was Tour." Savage is scheduled to hit cities such as Houston, Los Angeles, Chicago, Detroit, DC, and New York.
Rising North Carolina rap star DaBaby was tapped to be the opening act for the trek. The Baby on Baby creator will get to perform in his hometown of Charlotte on August 15. The next day, 21 Savage and DaBaby will close out the tour in the ATL.
I Am > I Was hosts the J. Cole-assisted track "A Lot" which climbed as high as #12 on the Hot 100 chart and earned a Platinum Award from the RIAA. The LP also features Childish Gambino, Travis Scott, Offset, Post Malone, ScHoolboy Q, Lil Baby, Gunna, City Girls, and more.
