Future Responds To Jay-Z's "Money Phone" Comments On The 'Rap Radar' Podcast

It appears the Freebandz frontman still feels a way about Hov's lyrics on "The Story of O.J."

(AllHipHop News) It's been almost two months since Jay-Z released 4:44, but the album is still being talked about by fans, media figures, and other rappers.

In particular, the Brooklyn emcee's lines from "The Story of O.J." were he raps "Y'all on the 'Gram holding money to your ear / There's a disconnect, we don't call that money over here" received both positive and negative reactions from his Hip Hop peers.

Jay sat down for a rare interview with the Rap Radar podcast, and he was asked about those bars.

"I didn’t even tell people to stop using the money phone. I didn’t say that," stated the Roc Nation founder. "I had to listen again like 'How is this being misinterpreted?' Because I just said it ain’t money to us. It ain’t. That’s just an honest statement."

He continued, "Money to us is me and my three friends on the floor at Golden State, not because the seats are expensive but because that’s what we’re doing. You’ve never seen that. Or building brands and pushing it forward. That can’t be the end all. That can’t be our goal, to get money and show it on the Internet. That can’t be our goal, that’s some corny sh*t."

Future was one of the artists that initially responded to Jay-Z by continuing to post pics of himself holding money to his ear on Instagram. The Freebandz frontman appeared to also offer feedback to Hov's recent comments via Twitter.

"Same money u get we gettin too...," tweeted Future. "As long as they print it we gone get it. FREEBANDZ."

Jay was also asked about his "Kill Jay Z" lyrics where he says, "I don't even know what you woulda done / In the future other n*ggas playing football with your son."

"I thought about that line and I thought about Hip Hop. I really don't mean any malice," explained the music icon. "What I mean about that is, the way his situation plays out - because he's such a public figure - mine would have played out that way and maybe four times more."

Hov added, "It wasn't about trying to put Future down. That doesn't even make any sense. We just made a song together. I don't have any problems with him. I don't have a reason to try to embarrass him. It's just a rap thing. I think we're so sensitive with rap too. I thought about that. Now you can't say anything."

Future needs to sit his stupid ass down somewhere before he gets hurt!
