And the latest episode involving 50 Cent and social media has the Queen's rapper in the crosshairs of the NYPD.

Cops are considering charges against 50 Cent after he weighed in on a growing scandal involving Club Love/Lust, whose owner filed a $125 million lawsuit claiming members of the NYPD were extorting the club.

50 weighed in on the news on today (May 24), by posting a picture of Deputy Inspector Emmanuel Gonzalez, who is accused of leading the alleged shakedown against Lust/Love owner, Imran Jairam.

50 then used the hashtag #getthestrap, which he is attempting to register for a trademark.

The NYPD claims 50 has incited thousands of fans, who are now threatening Gonzalez with real physical violence, and they are blaming 50's hashtag for the drama.

Gonzales has filed an official criminal complaint, claiming people are promising his death, while warning him to "get the strap."

According to reports, 50 Cent could be charged with Aggravated Harassment.

The "Getthestrap" hashtag is used all over 50 Cent’s social media posts and eludes to someone grabbing a gun.

The rapper is seeking approval for using the trademark on things like clothes, phone cases, hats, etc.

50 Cent seems to be thoroughly enjoying all of the attention he has managed to grab using the hashtag.
