(AllHipHop News) Omari Hardwick's name was trending on Twitter over the weekend. The actor best known for playing Ghost on Power was getting dragged for his double-kiss on Beyoncé Knowles-Carter at the 2019 NAACP Image Awards.
Some social media users felt Hardwick crossed the line because the greeting was too intimate and Knowles-Carter appeared to be uncomfortable. After video of the moment went viral, Beyoncé's Bey Hive fan base began spamming Omari's Instagram page with bee emojis ( 🐝 ).
Power co-star and executive producer 50 Cent piled on Hardwick too. Fiddy jokingly tweeted, "👀Season 6 of POWER Jay Z kills Ghost don’t miss it we lit 🔥.😆LOL jay was like🤔the f*ck is you doing pretty n*gga."
Beyoncé's husband, Shawn “Jay-Z” Carter, was standing next to the superstar singer as Hardwick smooched her on the cheek twice, with one kiss being extremely close to her mouth. Jay apparently did not see the awkward interaction.
Not everyone thought Hardwick was purposely inappropriate. It was pointed out that he previously worked with the power couple for Jay's "Family Feud" music video which featured Beyoncé, so they may have a more personal relationship.
While Omari Hardwick's kisses were probably the most talked about moment of this year's NAACP Image Awards, Beyoncé also made headlines for winning Entertainer of the Year. Plus, Jay-Z received the President’s Award for distinguished public service.
