for 50 Cent has announced the platinum-selling rapper will not be attending

the Live 8 Concert slated to take place in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, due

to a scheduling conflict.

Live 8 is the follow-up

to 1985’s massive concert, Live Aid and organizers have timed the event

to coincide with the G8 Summit in Gleneagles, Scotland.

According to 50’s

publicist Yvette Gayle, the rapper is in Toronto, Canada shooting his semi-autobiographical

film "Get Rich or Die Tryin.’"

His publicist said

the movie’s production schedule conflicted with the July 2 show, which

will take place on Benjamin Franklin Parkway.

While it has not

been confirmed, rumors are circulating that Michael Jackson is in talks to replace

50 Cent.

The concert will

be hosted simultaneously in Philadelphia, Paris, London, Berlin and Rome and

other Hip-Hop acts on the bill include Sean “P. Diddy” Combs, Jay-Z,

Snoop Dogg and Will Smith.

The concert aims to shed light on various humanitarian crises

in Africa and proceeds from the concert will benefit various poor African Nations.
