(AllHipHop News) Chance the Rapper is making a big push into Hollywood, with some big backing.
Metro Goldwyn Mayer Pictures (MGM) has acquired the rights to develop the feature musical "Hope" along with Chance and his longtime manager Pat Corcoran, of Haight Films.
The pair has also brought in Tradecraft’s Scott Bernstein of "Straight Outta Compton" for the project.
Long time hip hop veteran Carlito Rodriguez will pen the original screenplay.
"From day one, our mission at Haight Films' has been to apply Haight Brand's artist-first and Chicago-proud ideology to the film space."
"Hope" follows a group of Chicago teenagers that band together to turn art into action within their community.
The original music for the film will be produced by Nico Segal, formerly known as Donnie Trumpet.
