A$AP Rocky Gets A Huge Break As Assault Trial In Sweden Continues

Two witnesses may have helped A$AP Rocky regain his freedom.

(AllHipHop News) A$AP Rocky just received a major assist in his assault trial taking place in Stockholm, Sweden.

Two witnesses took the stand to back up the rap star's claim that he acted in self-defense, and more importantly, never struck a 19-year-old with a bottle, as prosecutors allege.

The 30-year-old rapper, real name Rakim Mayers, is facing two years in jail in Sweden over allegations he and his entourage attacked 19-year-old Mustafa Jafari on June 30.

They are accused of punching and kicking the teenager and hitting him with a bottle. Prosecutors are asking a judge to sentence the men to six months in prison for using an excessive amount of violence in their response.

During his testimony, A$AP Rocky addressed the glass bottles he was accused of attacking Jafari with, admitting he saw some lying on the street and he and his entourage picked them up so that the teenager would not use them against them.

When Jafari’s lawyer implied Rocky deliberately lured the alleged victim to the small, quiet street, he responded: “We didn’t know where we were, we just wanted to get away.”

“You got to realize my life is very unique and particular,” he shared, adding he’s previously been stabbed in the face and that his home has been robbed at gunpoint twice. “That’s why I have security.”

Rocky revealed he considered pressing charges against his aggressors himself, but didn't because he didn't know what impact it would have on his tour dates.

A verdict is expected to be reached in the case sometime next week.
