(AllHipHop News) A$AP Rocky is enjoying working on his "futuristic" new album in London thanks to its "creative and peaceful environment."
The Harlem-born rapper's highly-anticipated third album will be out later this year, and the 28-year-old, a member of the A$AP Mob collective, has shared how inspired he is by working in the British capital.
As well as his music, A$AP has been juggling a burgeoning fashion career, including the launch of a pop-up New York-style bodega in luxury store Selfridges.
He's a mainstay of fashion front rows and was linked to model Kendall Jenner, however, the rapper insists his "futuristic" new music is his main focus.
"I’ve been in the studio, just that, nothing else," he sighed in an interview with Britain's ES magazine. "Don’t even leave. It’s in my room, so..." adding that he plans on spending most of his time "recording my album, staying in my room. Writing video treatments, coming up with campaign plans and marketing plans for my companies, my entities."
The New Yorker, real name Rakim Mayers, believes working in London allows him to access another level of creativity.
"It’s just special to me for some reason. I’m just... I express myself way better when I’m in an environment that allows me to be," he continued. "When I’m here, for the most part, I’m in a peaceful, creative environment and I’m testing the waters and making new music, messing around with new sounds and anything that’s innovative."
The "Wild For The Night" rapper also shared he is a fan of British grime music and that he has collaborated with Mercury Award-winning artist Skepta, rapper Stormzy, and his favorite UK rapper CASisDEAD.
