A Boogie Wit Da Hoodie: Jay-Z Was The Only Person That Didn't Try To Sign Me

The native New Yorker talks about Hov passing on him joining the Roc Nation roster.

(AllHipHop News) A Boogie wit da Hoodie is one of the brightest rising talents to emerge from New York City over the last few years. Coming out of The Bronx, A Boogie made waves across the country with cuts like "Drowning."

The 2017 XXL Freshman eventually signed to Atlantic Records. However, the Artist mixtape creator told Montreality he once had hopes of signing with Hov's Roc Nation.

"Diddy reached out. Khaled reached out. A lot of people reached out. I think the only person that hasn't reached out to try to sign me when everybody was looking to sign me was Jay-Z," said A Boogie.

He continued, "I ain't feel no type of way. I always dreamed about something like that. That was one of my goals, but after a while, I had to wake up and realize I could become bigger than that. I could follow his footsteps and be as big as him. I could do it a whole different way and be as big as him."

A Boogie wit da Hoodie's The Bigger Artist is scheduled to be released on September 29. The project contains features from Kodak Black, Don Q, Chris Brown, Trey Songz, PnB Rock, and YoungBoy Never Broke Again.

I like a boogie's voice. But he has no content. No subject matter. He needs to live alittle, he cryed about the girl. But after that , same shit, Like fatty wap.
