(AllHipHop News) The Tupac biopic stars Demetrius Shipp Jr. as Tupac, while Danai Gurira plays Afeni Shakur. Jamal Woolard plays Biggie Smalls, and Dominic Santana landed the role of Suge Knight.
Even though the actor has dozens of credits to his name, including “20 Funerals,” “Dead Heist,” and “The Game,” his role of Suge Knight is one of the most anticipated performances of the biopic, which will be in theaters this summer.
“I’m very excited to be a part of such an iconic story and piece of music history,” Dominic Santana told AllHipHop.com. “Whenever a biopic is made, you have to approach it with respect to the people you are portraying, but also bring the role to a new level for those who aren’t familiar with the life and times of the historical figures.
“The response from fans has been a great mixture, but overall, most people have been excited about how well the casting was,” Dominic Santana continued.
The biopic is due in theaters on June 16th, which is also Tupac’s birthday.
