(AllHipHop News) With the unexpected and sudden passing of Tupac's mother Afeni Shakur, fans can rest assured that Tupac's music is in good hands.
According to reports, prior to her passing Afeni entrusted the West Coast legend's music in a "California Love" trust.
While media and fans have been asking questions about ownership rights in regards to Tupac's musical catalog, a rep for the estate says that Afeni was extremely careful when drafting the trust and chose an executor for the late-2Pac's estate, this according to TMZ.
It was also confirmed that Gust Davis - Afeni's ex-husband - will not be inheriting any portion of Tupac's musical rights.
TMZ also reports that Tom Whalley, former head of Warner Bros. Records, will be in charge of handling Tupac's catalog.
According to International Business Times, "Afeni’s net worth was reportedly more than $50 million. She is also believed to have been the head of her son’s estate, which continues to bring in nearly $1 million annually."
Afeni is survived by a sister, Gloria, and a daughter, Sekyiwa Shakur, Tupac's half-sister.
While the official cause of death has yet to be released, local authorities say they were called to her residence for a potential cardiac arrest.
Afeni was 69 years old.
