Rapper MURS has partnered with peta2 to raise awareness among his fans of the abuse of chickens in slaughterhouses that supply fast-food giant McDonalds. The politically active rapper, who is also a longtime vegetarian, is urging other young people to boycott the company until they adopted the “controlled-atmosphere killing (CAK)” method, which, according to peta2, eliminates some of the worst abuses that birds suffer during the slaughter process. As part of his support of the boycott, led by the People for the Ethical Treatment of Animals’ youth initiative, MURS will appear on a series of anti-McDonald’s postcards to be distributed during this year’s Rock The Bells tour. peta2 will aso set up information tables at each stop of the Tour.
