AHH Stray News: Solange #1, Help Rob Base Solve Murder, Chance’s New Merch Sells Out

SOLANGE, ROB BASE AND CHANCE THE RAPPER HIT THE HEADLINES

Solange Knowles

R&B star Solange has scored her first U.S. number one with A Seat at the Table. Beyonce’s little sister beats folk rockers Bon Iver to the coveted Billboard 200 title by just 1,000 units. The critically-acclaimed A Seat at the Table, the follow-up to 2012’s True, debuts with 72,000 equivalent album sales, ahead of Bon Iver’s 22, A Million, which takes second place. The achievement makes Beyonce and Solange one of few pairs of siblings who have topped the U.S. albums chart with their own solo efforts. They are only the second set of siblings to do so in the same calendar year, as Beyonce’s Lemonade smash hit the number one spot in April (16). Only Janet and Michael Jackson can boast the same honor, which they achieved in 2001 with their respective projects All For You and Invincible.

Rob Base

Police are asking the public to help find the man who killed a relative of rap legend Rob Base. Police said Ryan Ginyard, 24, was shot in the stomach at the Mount Hope Playground on June 29. Although he survived for awhile and was able to relay what happened to cops, he died just a day later on the operating table. Ginyard was just days away from graduating from The New York School for Medical and Dental Assistants. In fact, Ginyard was handing a friend commencement tickets when he was shot in the playgound. Police are looking for a black man in gray shirt with the number 72, who was wearing a ballcap, blue jeans and brown sneakers.
