AHH Stray News: Steve Harvey, Rap Ireland, Prodigal Sunn

Steve Harvey’s

“Steve Harvey Morning Show” will end its run on KKBT-FM (The Beat)

according to reports. Harvey’s contract with Radio One is up at the end

of the year. Reports said that the show drew good ratings, but was expensive

to run. Reports also suggested that attempts to syndicate the show proved unsuccessful.

One of Ireland’s

newest rap magazines will celebrate their re-launch next month. Rap Ireland

was originally published under the name Hip-Hop Ireland, but due to legal reasons

the magazine had to change the name. Armed with a new name, Rap Ireland will

host a launch party in The Hub, Temple Bar in Dublin on June 9th. “The

night is to celebrate the name change, the third issue and the start of a great

summer,” Rap Ireland’s Kev Storrs told AllHipHop.com. “It’s

going to be a brilliant night.” Frank Jez of Ireland’s FM 104 will

spin for the evening.

Wu-Tang affiliate

and Sunz of Man co-founder Prodigal Sunn is preparing to release his solo debut,

Return of the Prodigal Sunn. The album features appearances by GZA,

12 O’Clock, 60 Second Assassin, Yung Masta, Chi-King and Madame Dee. “You

know I’ve been on a lot of albums and traveled the world so I called my

album ‘The Return of the Prodigal Sunn’ because I’ve been

out there in the streets and I’ve come back to share my story through

my own songs,” Prodigal Sunn said. The first single is titled “Brutality

(The Grindz Remix)” and features RZA’s latest discovery, C.C.F.

Division. RZA, J.Wellz, B Original, K-Beats and others handle production duties.
