Rap royalty Snoop Dogg will be fittingly honored during the 2016 BET Hip-Hop Awards, which are set to tape this weekend in Atlanta. Snoop Dogg is being honored with the “I Am Hip Hop” Award at the 11th annual event, which takes place at the Cobb Energy Performing Centre. Gucci Mane, Young Thug and T.I. are among the performers expected to hit the stage this year. The 2016 BET Hip-Hop Awards will air on October 4.
An arrest has been made in the murder of rapper Kid Cali. Kid Cali, who was once signed to Desean Jackson’s Jaccpot Records, was shot six times and killed at a party held by Kid Red in the Granada Hills section of Los Angeles in August. Police have apprehended a 19-year-old in the shooting, which took place during a fight between two rival gangs. Two other people were hit by the gunfire and are currently recovering.

A new trailer has been released for the new Tupac Shakur biopic “All Eyez On Me,” to mark the 20th anniversary of the legendary rapper’s death, which happened today (September 13) in a Las Vegas hospital. The new “All Eyez On Me” has received praise thus far, thanks to the camerawork of director Benny Boom, actor Demetrius Shipp, Jr. as Tupac and Jamal Woolard, who plays Biggie Smalls.
