(AllHipHop News) Twitter lit up on Sunday when the final sales numbers for Travis Scott's AstroWorld and Nicki Minaj's Queen were revealed. AstroWorld (205,000 units) will remain at #1 on the Billboard 200 for the second week, and Queen (185,000 units) debuted in the runner's up position.
That #2 showing led Nicki to tweet several reasons why she lost to Scott. The list included blaming Spotify and her label for not supporting her in a supposed spat with the streaming service. She also claimed Scott's numbers were possibly tainted.
"Travis sold over 50K of these. With no requirement of redeeming the album! With no dates for a tour, etc," tweeted the Young Money representative. "Travis sold 200K in his first week of clothes alone. I spoke to him last night & he said he’s been selling clothes b4 the music. Billboard says they’ll change the rules cuz of this, so it should be changed now!"
According to Billboard, both Minaj and Scott benefited from various combo packages. The publication reported:
> Queen, like Astroworld, saw its sales bolstered by an array of merchandise/album bundles sold via Minaj’s official website. Queen also benefits from sales generated by a concert ticket/album sale redemption offer with her upcoming co-headlining tour with Future.
Nicki's MyPinkFriday site is selling Queen merchandise that comes with a copy of the album. The official Travis Scott website is presenting LP/ticket bundles. Several of the AstroWorld options are sold out.
