(AllHipHop News) Two of the most well-known NYC-based brands are teaming up. A new partnership between Def Jam and the New York Jets will combine music and sports in the Big Apple.
“Through our partnership with Def Jam Recordings, we are looking to amplify our in-game experience and provide fans with entertaining content from their truly talented artists,” says New York Jets President Neil Glat. “In collaboration with this New York company that is recognized all over the world, we are excited to see what new and unique endeavors await our fans.”
Def Jam is set to create a custom “Jets Anthem” to be played as part of the pregame festivities at home games. In addition, the iconic label will provide the NFL franchise with new music and classic hits to be used in weekly hype videos that will be posted on social media.
Artists on the Def Jam roster will also unite with Jets athletes for a video series. The first vid will provide an exclusive look at second-year safeties Jamal Adams and Marcus Maye’s visit to Jadakiss’ studio in Yonkers, New York.
Def Jam is currently the label home of 2 Chainz, Alessia Cara, Big Sean, Dave East, Desiigner, Fabolous, Jeremih, Jhené Aiko, Justin Bieber, Kanye West, Logic, Pusha T, Teyana Taylor, Vince Staples, YG, and others. The Jets’ season begins September 10 in Detroit, and they returned to MetLife Stadium on the 16th for their first home game against the Miami Dolphins.
