Andre 3000's OutKast 20th Anniversary Tour Jumpsuits To Be Featured As Art Exhibit
(AllHipHop News) The reuniting of Big Boi and Andre 3000 as OutKast for a series of festival shows was one of the highlights for Hip Hop culture in 2014. The ATLiens joining forces once again not only allowed a new generation to experience classic songs like "B.O.B.", "Ms. Jackson", and "Hey Ya!" live, but fans also got a taste of Andre's unique fashion style and personal ideology.
3K wore self-designed, custom jumpsuits that featured socially charged quotes such as "I pray there's a god at the end of all this", "across cultures, darker people suffer most. why?", and "art of fart?" Dre even sported one that read "F#ck 3000".
All 47 of Andre 3000's concert outfits will be part of the Savannah College of Art and Design's i feel ya: SCAD + André 3000 Benjamin exhibit at Art Basel Miami Beach.
"As I initially thought about displaying this collection, I immediately knew that I wanted to work with my longtime collaborative partners at SCAD," said Dre in a press release. "The diverse group of people that come to Miami for Art Basel Miami Beach are the right audience to see this for the first time."
SCAD’s Executive Director of Exhibitions Laurie Ann Farrell curated i feel ya. The showcase, which also includes the work of filmmaker Greg Brunkalla and painter Jimmy O’Neal, will be on view Wednesday, December 3 through Sunday, December 14 at Mana Miami.
After its premiere at Art Basel, i feel ya: SCAD + André 3000 Benjamin will be housed at the SCAD Museum of Art in Savannah, Georgia in summer 2015.
