(AllHipHop News) Anthony Anderson, most notably known for his role on "Black-ish" on Hulu, will now be starring in the Netflix series called "Beats."
Produced by Global Road Entertainment and 51 Minds Entertainment, the show has just started production in Chicago.
As reported by The Wrap, "Beats" is an urban drama where a young musical prodigy (Khalil Everage) with agoraphobia collides with former music manager (Anthony Anderson) on the South Side of Chicago.
Together, the two opposites must join forces to tackle demons from their past.
The series serves as an ode to Chi-town, highlighting the history of hip-hop in the city.
Chris Robinson, responsible for "ATL" and "The New Edition Story," will be directing from an original screenplay by Miles Feldsott.
In addition to the authenticity of the Chicago rap scene, music will be provided by real Chi-town natives such as Young Chop, who was born and raised on the South Side.
