(AllHipHop News)Atlanta fans definitely remember the creepy Michael Jackson-esque character known as Teddy Perkins. Viewers of the Hiro Murai-directed episode were shocked by the fictitious musician's strange interactions with Darius (Lakeith Stanfield).
"Teddy Perkins" earned Atlanta two Emmy wins for Outstanding Cinematography for a Single-Camera Series (Half-Hour) and Outstanding Sound Editing for a Comedy or Drama Series (Half-Hour) and Animation. While Donald Glover didn't repeat as the Outstanding Lead Actor in a Comedy Series winner, the program's creator did appear to sit front row at the ceremony dressed as Perkins.
But was that really the actor/rapper in whiteface? The real Glover was seen throughout the night without makeup. Plus, there is also a photo circulating online of Donald, Teddy, Lakeith, and Brian Tyree Henry together at the Emmys.
According to a guest actor on the series, Donald Glover remained in character during the entire filming of the "Teddy Perkins" episode. Derrick Haywood said, "They were calling him Teddy, he acted as Teddy. There was no Donald on set whatsoever. I kid you not."
