Atlanta Label Block Ent. Lands Deal With Universal Thanks To Buzz Of New Artists

Block Ent. inks a major label deal and will release two key releases this year.

(AllHipHop News) Atlanta has a new label, thanks to a deal between Block Ent. and Universal Republic.

The veteran hip-hop entrepreneur is responsible for the careers of artists like Young Jeezy, Ciara, and others, in addition to heading up Diddy's Bad Boys South imprint.

Block recently signed his Country Boy and his group R2R (Ragz2Riches) to a deal, with Universal Republic handling the marketing and distribution.

According to Block, he is looking for more than just artists for his latest venture.

"I'm signing more than talent, I want to incorporate more 'business men' which enhances partnerships," Russell "Block" Spencer explained.

In addition to the major label debut of Country Boy and R2R, Block is also working on a compilation album titled block by block and a docu-series as well.
