The "I Luv This Sh*t" singer calls the music company "trash."

(AllHipHop News) It's been two years since August Alsina released his studio album This Thing Called Life. The New Orleans-raised singer is now calling out Def Jam Recordings for the delay of his next project.

Def Jam is currently undergoing a transition. In August, Eminem’s manager Paul Rosenberg was announced as the new CEO of the company, but he does not officially start his tenure until 2018.

That turnover is partly why Alsina is venting about wanting to be freed from the label. His fans then began blasting Def Jam on social media.

The "I Luv This Sh*t" performer tweeted:

I would love to put my album out but DEF JAM is holding it/me hostage because the system is not up & running until next year so they basically dont exist. The label is just TRASH .. I will release free music soon but that has been the hold up. Tell Them to FREE ME & the Album
