Azealia Banks Responds To Reports She Could Be Headed To Jail

The New Yorker fires back at The Shade Room.

(AllHipHop News) Outspoken rapper Azealia Banks was back in court on Thursday. According to the Daily News, Banks failed to prove she finished six hours of mandated anger management courses stemming from a 2015 assault case.

Criminal Court Judge Angela Badamo told the "212" performer she must provide evidence of completing two more hours of anger management before her next court date on April 3. Banks reportedly insulted reporters and photographers as she left the courthouse.

The Shade Room picked up the story and published an Instagram post under the heading: "Azealia Banks Faces Jail Time For Not Completing Anger Management Course." AB responded to the gossip account on her own IG page, and she uploaded a "certificate of completion" from a licensed mental health counselor.

Banks wrote:

This is a lie. My court date was rescheduled because the DA on my case was not in court yesterday. I completed all 12 hours of anger management and there were two hours in dispute because the counselor didn’t send them into the courts. Hence the date being rescheduled.. I’m definitely not going to jail. 🙄 The fact that I even have to address this type of bullsh-t is stupid. Theshaderoom definitely has something against me, I am not sure what it is. . . Funny because four years ago I would have gone on a rampage over this but I’m really too grown to care today.... Oh well *yawn*

Besides dealing with pending legal issues, Azealia is also said to be preparing to release her next music project titled Fantasea II: The Second Wave. The Harlem-raised entertainer also claimed she signed a $1 million deal with the eOne record label/distribution company.
