(AllHipHop News) Oakland rap collective Hieroglyphics have assembled a stellar lineup for this year's "Hiero Day" celebration.
This Labor Day, the group will present over 30 live performances on three stages.
Hieroglyphics went all-out for the 8th annual celebration, which will feature Benny the Butcher and Conway the Machine, Scarface, Black Moon, Smif-N-Wessun, Adrian Younge & Ali Shaheed Muhammad's Midnight Hour, Spice 1, Little Brother, Diamond D., and Pete Rock & Yuckmouth.
“Hiero Day gives everyone who participates a chance to not only have a great time in a safe, welcoming atmosphere, it also gives us all a chance to meet, interact and show each other what we are all about," said founding member Tajai Massey.
Local legends Mistah F.A.B., Chuy Gomez, and Sway Calloway are on deck as hosts throughout the celebration, which will take place on Labor Day (September 2).
This year the group is extending the celebration with an additional day of events called "Hiero Day Weekend."
“This year we are introducing "Hiero Day Weekend", a series of events we have talked about for years,” she said. “We have such a great fan base, we wanted to extend Hiero Day beyond a one-day event. This year we will have several events leading to Hiero Day during the Labor Day weekend to engage more with all the people who have supported Hiero Day over all of these years.”
