(AllHipHop News) Veteran Hip Hop personality Kurt "Big Boy" Alexander will soon be seen on TV screens. iHeartMedia and Fuse Media announced Real 92.3's nationally-syndicated Big Boy’s Neighborhood will air on Fuse Music.
The popular radio program will be televised weekdays starting July 30. Big Boy's morning crew of Natalia Perez, Louie G, Ayyde and DJ VickOn are positioned to be on the Fuse series as well.
“Music is a passion point for our young, multicultural audience and who better to provide a daily dose of the biggest names in music entertainment and breaking pop culture news than radio icon Big Boy,” says Fuse Media President & CEO Michael Schwimmer. “We look forward to bringing Big Boy’s Neighborhood to FM and partnering with iHeartMedia on the type of cutting-edge entertainment his radio listeners have enjoyed for so many years.”
Just over the last six weeks, Big Boy’s Neighborhood has presented headline-making interviews with Pusha T, Jaden Smith, Kanye West, LaVar Ball, Nas, Teyana Taylor, and more. Its corresponding YouTube channel, titled BigBoyTV, has over 450,000 subscribers and 85 million total views.
"I can’t believe it’s been three years since I embarked on this incredible journey with iHeartMedia to bring Big Boy’s Neighborhood to my listeners on iHeartRadio’s Real 92.3, and now across broadcast radio stations nationwide,” offers Big Boy. “Words can’t express how excited I am to bring the Neighborhood to millions of viewers through this television partnership with Fuse.”
Alexander's three-decade career includes numerous awards. The Chicago-born former bodyguard for The Pharcyde was inducted into the National Radio Hall of Fame in 2015.
“This new partnership with Fuse is the continuation of an exciting trend of our iconic iHeartRadio personalities extending their reach to television,” adds John Sykes, President of Entertainment Enterprises for iHeartMedia. “Big Boy is a legend in music and this is the next logical step as he extends his brand.”
Big Boy’s Neighborhood joins other Hip Hop-centered content to make the jump to the small screen. iHeartMedia's The Breakfast Club broadcasts on Revolt along with N.O.R.E. & DJ EFN's Drink Champs podcast and Joe Budden's upcoming The State Of The Culture. After originally airing a show on Viceland, Desus & Mero are taking their talents to Showtime.
Episodes of Big Boy’s Neighborhood will premiere weekdays on FM (Fuse Music) on the same day as the radio broadcast.
