Big Sean Opens Up About Going To Therapy To Deal With Anxiety And Depression

"I'm making the best music of my life."

(AllHipHop News) Big Sean is celebrating his 31st birthday today (March 25). The Detroit-bred rapper used his born-day to speak to his 10.8 million Instagram followers about his mental health.

"I've been meditating since I was 17 years old. That helps with anxiety, depression, all those things that I felt in my life, but it wasn't doing it all the way for this. So I knew that this required some special attention," Sean expressed. "So what I did was start therapy."

He went on to talk about how even making music went from being his "joy" and "escape" to "feeling like a burden." Big Sean also opened up about the "toxic relationships" throughout his life.

It has been over two years since Sean released his last studio album, I Decided. However, the G.O.O.D. Music emcee is currently recording new tunes after "finding a whole new energy" from rediscovering himself.

"Then I started getting back to making the music, and it started being fun again. I'm making the best music of my life," declared Sean.

He added, "Put that energy back into yourself, be clear about what you want to do and who you want to do it with. Just know that it all translates to happiness and it feels good to be back at a higher level."
