(AllHipHop News) Cash Money boss Birdman called into Shade 45 to speak with DJ Whoo Kid recently. During the Q&A, Baby talks about how his roster of YMCMB artists like Lil Wayne, Drake, Nicki Minaj, and Tyga are family, not just business partners.
Speaking specifically about Drake and his relationship with Cash Money, Birdman make it clears any rumors that the "Started From The Bottom" rapper is planning to break loose from the team are false.
"Drake is my little brother. I love him to death, and he family," says Birdman. "I know y'all hear all kind of crazy s**t. You can't read none of that s**t. Drake down with the team for life. He made that commitment when we did another situation."
The 20 year veteran of the music business also speaks on how Cash Money has been able to maintain its relevancy in the industry while other labels have fallen of.
"I study the game everyday. I watch what these labels do. They teach me how not to be." says Birdman. "It's a business for them. It's corporate and they don't really care. This my team. This my family. I care."
Birdman goes on to say, "I'm looking at the business now. It's no more love. It's corporate now so you is what you is. Either you're making numbers or you're a nobody. I don't feel that. I don't think that's cool."
