The Tennessee hitmaker says he has a project on the way.

(AllHipHop News) Memphis rapper BlocBoy JB gained national attention thanks to his "Shoot Dance." He then got a major co-sign by collaborating with Hip Hop superstar Drake for the Top 10 hit "Look Alive."

BlocBoy sat down with Beats 1 Radio at the 2018 SXSW Festival to talk about his relationship with the OVO leader. The 21-year-old recalled how he and Drake first connected.

"We linked up off of Instagram. He showed me a post where everyone was tagging me. He had tagged me performing in Whitehaven and I sent him the ‘100’ emoji. He was like, ‘My favorite rapper. We gotta make one soon.’ I was like, 'Okay!' I had to go check and see if that was really him," said Blocboy. "I saw the blue check mark and I said, 'Oh, this is Drake!' As soon as he sent that, he sent me his number. When I woke up the next morning, the song was right there. I had to do it just like him, fast.”

The Purple M&M mixtape creator also revealed another music project is expected to land in the near future. He stated, "Yeah, it’s coming real soon, like before this month or next month."
