Bobbito Garcia's 'Rock Rubber 45s' Documentary Set To Hit Video On Demand

(AllHipHop News) DJ Bobbito Garcia is telling his life story in the new film Rock Rubbers 45s. The co-host of the iconic The Stretch Armstrong and Bobbito Show also uses the documentary to explore the connection between Hip Hop, basketball, and sneakers.

Rock Rubbers 45s premiered at The Kennedy Center in June. Chuck D, Lin-Manuel Miranda, Rosie Perez, Questlove, Michael Rapaport, Chris Paul, Patti LaBelle, and more celebrities make an appearance in the doc.

Garcia's entertainment résumé also includes directing Stretch and Bobbito: Radio That Changed Lives. The NPR podcast personality also wrote a book titled Where’d You Get Those? NYC’s Sneaker Culture: 1960-1987.

Rock Rubbers 45s debuts worldwide via VOD platforms (iTunes, Amazon, Vimeo, Vudu, Google Play) on July 24. Watch the trailer above and check out still photos from the documentary below.
