(AllHipHop News) "Empire" actor Jussie Smollett has officially been charged with a crime for allegedly orchestrating his own attack.
According to reports, police have charged the actor with disorderly conduct, for filling a false police report.
The crime is a class 4 felony, which is punishable by up to 1.5 years in prison.
Police turned over information to a Grand Jury in Cook County earlier today, and the two Nigerian men who were originally considered suspects in the attack reportedly attended the hearing.
The brothers, Ola and Abel Usondairo claim Jussie paid them $3,500 to stage the entire crime.
He reportedly wrote a check to pay the brothers, but he marked the memo line as "training" to cover his tracks.
The 36-year-old actor claimed he was attacked by racist white pro-Trump supporters, who doused him with a bleach-like chemical substance.
Then, the men tied a noose around his neck while yelling racist and homophobic slurs.
If Jussie is convicted of filing a police report, he could spend up to three years in the slammer.
Jussie is expected to surrender cops tomorrow afternoon.
