(AllHipHop News) Sixteen years later, Jay-Z versus Nas is still one of the most talked about rap battles of all time. Fellow New York City emcee Cam'ron appeared on ESPN's Highly Questionable and the topic came up again.
“Jay Z and Nas is probably my favorite rap beef, because Nas was kind of quiet for a while. For a couple of years, Nas was kind of quiet, and Jay Z was elevating at that particular time and everybody thought Nas was out," said the Dipset leader. "Jay Z did a diss record towards Nas... everybody was like Nas is really gone. Then Nas came out the blue with a song called 'Ether,' and it was like ‘wow Nas is not gone.'"
Cam continued, "People have different opinions on who won that battle, but that was probably the best battle I've seen because it was really intense. It was all based out of New York... I believe Nas won the battle, and Jay-Z won the war. This is no disrespect to neither one of these guys."
The Program mixtape creator went on to explain that he believes Nas won lyrically, but because the Queens spitter eventually signed to Jay-Z at Def Jam, the Brooklyn native won overall. Cam has a history of feuding with both Esco and Hov, but he made it clear that he has no issues with either man at the moment.
