(AllHipHop News) Cardi B has been very outspoken on about politics for several years. In recent months, she ramped-up her commentary on the state of America as the 2020 election draws closer.
At different points, the Bardi Gang leader shouted out Senator Bernie Sanders, Representative Ilhan Omar, Representative Tulsi Gabbard, and other progressive politicians. Her social media presence is so impactful in the political space that Time magazine named Cardi one of the "25 Most Influential People On The Internet" for 2019.
Yesterday, the A-lister born Belcalis Almánzar uploaded an Instagram video where she suggested the public should not constantly get distracted by Donald Trump's angry tweets and voters should focus on the policies of the Democratic presidential candidates instead. It appears Cardi caught some backlash for her video, so the 26-year-old Grammy winner returned to IG to address her critics.
"I'm not telling people to get educated when it comes to these candidates for no f*cking clout. Every other two days, I'm getting 100,000 followers, my engagement is crazy, my music is selling, my shows are selling. I'm good," declared Cardi. "I've been doing this sh*t for a hot minute. I've been preaching about politics since I had crooked teeth. Y'all can go on YouTube and check. Every other day I'm on Live talking about this sh*t. I did a whole concert last year that was dedicated to mid-term elections."
She continued, "However, y'all keep on wanting to bring up, 'Oh, I'm not taking advice from a stripper...' Alright, and then when you get stuck with the same president that y'all complain about every other day then it's like, 'You see? You should've listened to the stripper'... I pay millions of dollars in taxes in this country, so yes, I'm trying to make a change."
