Cardi B, Beyoncé & Jay-Z Score The Most 2018 MTV VMA Nominations

Childish Gambino, Drake, and Bruno Mars are among the top nominees too.

(AllHipHop News) Hip Hop will be taking over the 2018 MTv Video Music Awards. Cardi B heads into the night with the most nominations. The Invasion Of Privacy album creator has ten chances to win.

Five of the Bronx representative's noms are for her "Finesse" collaboration with Bruno Mars. Right behind Cardi is The Carters. Beyoncé and Jay-Z racked up 8 nods.

Both acts are up for the coveted "Video of the Year" honor. "Finesse (Remix)" and The Carters' "Apesh-t" are competing against Ariana Grande's “No Tears Left to Cry," Camila Cabello & Young Thug's “Havana," Childish Gambino's “This Is America," and Drake's “God's Plan."

Gambino and Drake earned seven noms, respectively. Mars scored six with Grande and Cabello landing five each. Artist of the Year will go to Cardi, Drake, Mars, Grande, Cabello, or Post Malone.

The Best Hip Hop Award category includes “Apesh-t," “God's Plan," Cardi B & 21 Savage's “Bartier Cardi, J. Cole's “ATM," Migos & Drake's “Walk It Talk It," and Nicki Minaj's “Chun-Li." Cardi B, Lil Pump, Lil Uzi Vert, Chloe x Halle, Bazzi, and Hayley Kiyoko were nominated for Best New Artist.
