Cardi B Named Billboard's Top New Artist For 2018

The 'Invasion of Privacy' album creator was one of the most honored acts of the year.

(AllHipHop News) In 2018, Cardi B was a winner at the American Music Awards, ASCAP Rhythm & Soul Music Awards, BET Awards, BET Hip Hop Awards, iHeartRadio Music Awards, Soul Train Music Awards, and MTV Video Music Awards. The VMAs even named Cardi the Best New Artist of the year.

Billboard magazine co-signed MTV honoring the Bronx rapstress as 2018's leading neophyte. The publication released its year-end charts, and Cardi came in at #1 on the Top New Artists tally.

Cardi B also landed in the Top 10 of the Hot 100 Songs ("I Like It" - #7), Billboard 200 Albums (Invasion of Privacy - #6), Top Artists (#5), Hot 100 Artists (#3), Social 50 Artists (#3), Top Female Artists (#2), and other charts. She also topped the Hot R&B Songs and R&B Digital Songs charts for her feature on Bruno Mars' "Finesse."

It would come as no surprise if Belcalis Almánzar heads to the 61st Annual Grammy Awards as one of the favorites to win a golden gramophone. However, the Atlantic Records signee is not eligible for a Best New Artist nomination.
