(AllHipHop News) It looks like the legal drama between Belcalis "Cardi B" Almanzar and her ex-manager Klenord "Shaft" Raphael is far from over. Earlier this year, Shaft filed a $10 million lawsuit against Cardi for alleged breach of contract and defamation.
The "I Like It" hitmaker answered Shaft with her own $15 million countersuit. Cardi accused Raphael of taking an "unreasonable" amount of her earnings and getting involved in her personal relationships. Shaft's representatives have publicly addressed those allegations.
"The facts are simple - Cardi B’s music, image, and rise to superstardom were all developed and executed by Shaft and his team of writers and producers," reads a statement from Raphael's camp. "The outright lies and distortions in her claims make you shake your head. This is just more of the same campaign by Cardi B and her team to defame and injure Shaft, the one person who saw promise in her, invested time and resources in her, and succeeded in making her rich and famous."
It was announced in March that Cardi signed a new management deal with Quality Control. The company is also the label home to Cardi's husband Offset and his Hip Hop group Migos.
