(AllHipHop News) Cardi B added another Billboard chart record to her résumé. Maroon 5's "Girls Like You" featuring Cardi just spent its seventh week atop the Hot 100.
The Bronx native moved into a tie for most weeks at #1 with one song for a female rapper. Iggy Azalea's "Fancy" featuring Charli XCX also controlled the Hot 100 for seven weeks in 2014.
Cardi already secured the female rap record for most cumulative weeks at #1. With "Bodak Yellow" (3 weeks), "I Like It" (1 week)," and "Girls Like You" (7 weeks), the hitmaker has a total of 11 weeks in the pole position.
Plus, the Invasion of Privacy album creator is the only female rapper with more than one Hot 100 chart topper. She and Lauryn Hill are the only female rappers to have a #1 with no features.
This week's Hot 100 chart also contains several other Cardi records within the Top 20. Her new single "Money" rose to #13, the "Taki Taki" collaboration with DJ Snake, Selena Gomez, and Ozuna slipped to #16, and "I Like It" featuring Bad Bunny and J Balvin dropped to #19.
Men have mostly dominated the top of the Hot 100 over the last two years. Only Cardi B, Taylor Swift ("Look What You Made Me Do"), Beyoncé ("Perfect" with Ed Sheeran), and Camila Cabello ("Havana" featuring Young Thug) have managed to claim the title of the most popular song in the country in 2017 or 2018.
