Cardi B. Wins, Uncle Luke Denies Dissing Legendary DJ’s And More At 2017 Bet Hip-Hop Awards

Cardi B. scooped up some major awards and Uncle Luke is also clarfing comments he made in his acceptance speech.

(AllHipHop News) The 2017 BET Hip-Hop Awards filmed last night (October 6), in Miami.

The awards ceremony took place at the Jackie Gleason Theater, and was hosted by DJ Khaled.

Artist like Dave East, Lil Yachty, XXXTentacion, Cardi B., Migos and more hit the “Green Carpet“ or attended the event, which honored the best and brightest in hip-hop for the year.

Performers during the evening included Yo Gotti, Cardi B., Trina, Gucci Mane, Playboi Carti, Migos and Uncle Luke.

Cardi B took home best new hip-hop artist and Hustler of the Year, thanks to her hit single “Bodak Yellow.”

Miami legend Uncle Luke Campbell received the “IamHipHop” icon award in his hometown.

As Uncle Luke was accepting his award, he had to shoot from the hip when the teleprompter he was reading from went out.

His off-the-cuff comments lead some to believe that he was disrespecting New York DJs Funkmaster Flex and DJ Red Alert.

Uncle Luke immediately took to his Instagram account to deflate any negative press that might be coming his way when the show airs.

“Let me set the record straight if anyone misinterpreted my speech at the BET Awards last night that I said something bad about @funkflex #djredAlert your F##KING WORNG (sic). what I was trying to say was when everybody else was shiting on me Funkmaster Flex broke my music in New York along with DJ Red Alert giving me my name,” Uncle Luke said. “I will always be grateful to those guys. If anyone knows me they know that I do not make Corrections with what I say I wear that shit on my shoulder. “
