(AllHipHop News) Rapper Casanova has turned himself in after being accused of assaulting a woman, a notion he continues to refute.
His lawyer, Scott Leemon vehemently backed up the idea and also gave context to the situation that his client faces.
As I said over the weekend, CASANOVA did not assault anyone. He is only charged with Robbery, relating, to possession of the cell phone. When, in fact, the alleged victim, left, that night, with her phone. Therefore, there is no loss relating to anything CASANOVA is accused of doing. The alleged victim knowingly and purposely lied to the local media for one significant purpose….to try and make money off of the incident. She has no credibility. The labeling of CASANOVA as a person who assaults women is slanderous and will not be tolerated.
Casanova, nee Caswell Senior, turned himself in at the 13th Precinct in Manhattan and was arraigned on two counts of robbery.
Casanova and his entourage are accused of brutally assaulting a woman inside of a New York diner on Aug. 5 at the Good Stuff Diner on West 14th Street in New York. Some reports have suggested that the rap star became irritated when Niya Rucker attempted to put him on her Instagram live. She then charged that one of Casanova's associates put her in a chokehold, while the rapper deleted the post from her phone. Rucker also claimed Casanova or somebody in his crew broke her jaw, which even required stitches and a knocked out tooth.
His wife of 10 years, Jasmere Senior, reinforced that he's innocent
“He’s definitely innocent.” She told the New York Post, “If anybody touched her he don’t know the people who touched her.”
