(AllHipHop News) Chance The Rapper has been an outspoken critic of current Chicago mayor Rahm Emanuel. However, the Democratic politician will not be seeking a third term as the city's chief executive.
At least 14 people have declared their candidacy to be the next mayor of Chicago. Director of the Austin Chamber of Commerce Dr. Amara Enyia threw her name into the 2019 race, and she picked up the endorsement of Chancelor Bennett.
The Grammy winner announced he's backing the municipal consultant at a City Hall press conference. Chance also shared his approval on social media by tweeting, "Amara for Mayor."
Enyia's policy platform includes founding a public bank for the city, restoring mental/behavioral health services to combat violence, investing in public neighborhood schools, and ending corruption. She received a law degree focusing on International law and development. The 35-year-old CEO of ACE Municipal Partners also holds a Masters Degree in Education and a Ph.D. in Educational Policy Studies.
