Chance The Rapper Officially Picks His Candidate For Mayor Of Chicago

Chance is backing a newcomer who hopes to reshape the city of Chicago.

(AllHipHop News) Chance The Rapper is diving into local politics in his hometown of Chicago, where he has officially endorsed a candidate running for Mayor.

The rapper created a buzz online when he announced he would be holding a press conference while tweeting the lyrics "I'm thinking maybe I should..." from his song "Somewhere In Paradise," in which he considers running for Mayor himself.

It turns out Chance is not running for Mayor, but he is backing Amara Enyia in the heated race since she is the candidate who shares similar views on a number of issues.

The rapper is currently planning to host a huge voter registration drive with Enyia.

The pick put Chance at odds with his father Ken Bennett, who has endorsed Mayor Rahm Emanuel's former assistant, Toni Preckwinkle who is running for Mayor as well.
