(AllHipHop News) R. Kelly has been the most talked about artist following the release of the Surviving docuseries on Lifetime.
In the final episode, Chance The Rapper admits that making music with the “Ignition” singer was a mistake.
The two artists are both from Chicago and have shown support for each other, including collaborating on a track titled “Somewhere In Paradise” with another Chitown native, Jeremih.
Chance states, “Making a song with R. Kelly was a mistake. I didn’t value the accusers’ stories because they were black women. I made a mistake," he told the outlet Cassius, which was used in the final episode of "Surviving R. Kelly."
His comments about devaluing black women have also caused outrage as well, prompting the rapper to drop a clip of his full statement.
"We're programmed to really be hypersensitive to black male oppression, but black women are exponentially [a] higher oppressed and violated group of people just in comparison to the whole world. Maybe I didn't care because I didn't value the accusers' stories because they were black women."
