Charlamagne Tha God Defends Kamala Harris Against Weed/Rap Timeline Criticism

The radio personality calls the reports "alternative facts" and "fake news."

(AllHipHop News) Senator Kamala Harris' interview with The Breakfast Club made international news. While the 2020 presidential candidate was asked about her record as a prosecutor and other policy decisions, Harris admitting to smoking weed as a college student is what went viral.

Several media outlets and online pundits questioned the California lawmaker seemingly saying she listened to Snoop Dogg and 2Pac while getting high. The criticism centered around the fact that those two rappers did not have albums out around the time Harris was in college.

The Breakfast Club addressed the matter on this morning's radio show. Specifically, Charlamagne Tha God pushed back against the critiques leveled at Harris over the marijuana discussion.

"[DJ] Envy asked about what music she listened to," said Charlamagne. "I'm on the side still playing about the weed thing, and I said, 'What music were you listening to when you were getting high?' She laughed that off and answered Envy."

CTG added, "We can't be reaching like this. This is dangerous. This digital era we live in where everything is out of context is trash. If you don't like Kamala, cool. Question her record, challenge things she's done as a prosecutor, but don't make stuff up. This is a blatant lie, alternative facts, fake news. And guess who started it? Breitbart and Fox News started this and y'all ran with it. We gotta be better than that."
