Check Out The Opening Weekend Box Office Sales For Spike Lee’s 'BlacKkKlansman'

John David Washington stars in the Jordan Peele-produced biographical crime film.

(AllHipHop News)BlacKkKlansman didn't have a Marvel-level opening weekend at the box office, but the latest Spike Lee joint did bring in $10.8 million. The production budget for the film was reportedly just $15 million.

Lee's new movie tells the true story of Ron Stallworth (John David Washington), a black Colorado cop that works with a white cop (Adam Driver) to infiltrate the Ku Klux Klan in the 1970s. Topher Grace plays former KKK Grand Wizard David Duke.

BlacKkKlansman earned the "Universal Acclaim" stamp from Metacritic and a 97% rating from Rotten Tomatoes. The motion picture also won the Grand Prix award at the 2018 Cannes Film Festival.
