Childish Gambino Accused Of Stealing "This Is America" From Another Artist

What do you think? Was it inspiration, biting, or just a coincidence?

(AllHipHop News) Donald "Childish Gambino" Glover earned widespread praise for his song "This Is America" and its music video. The record debuted at #1 on the Hot 100 chart while also sparking countless think pieces about the themes presented in the visuals.

Gambino is now being accused of lifting his popular tune from a rapper named Jase Harley. A few Twitter users suggested "This Is America" sounds very similar to Harley's "American Pharaoh."

According to Tyler Conway of the Bleacher Report, Harley addressed the comparisons on Instagram. Conway posted a tweet that supposedly features quotes from the New Jersey representative.

"A shout out would be cool. all good tho... he's a great artist, dope I could've had some influence on the record," reads one of the messages. "American Pharaoh" appears on Harley's 2016 album Free Pxrn: The Memoir of an American Heathen.

Gambino gave a short, impromptu performance of "This Is America" at last night's BET Awards. The track's video has amassed nearly 300 million views on YouTube since being uploaded on May 5.
