Childish Gambino Dethrones Drake From The #1 Spot On The Hot 100 Chart

“This Is America” is now the most popular song in the country.

(AllHipHop News) Drake’s 15-week run atop the Billboard Hot 100 is over. The Canadian entertainer’s “Nice For What” was knocked off by Childish Gambino’s “This Is America.”

Gambino earned his first career #1 as the super-viral video for “This Is America” garnered over 100 million YouTube views in its first week of release. The record also leads the Streaming Songs and Digital Song Sales charts.

“Nice For What” ruled the Hot 100 for four straight weeks. Prior to that, Drake’s “God’s Plan” held the pole position for 11 weeks in a row.

The two smash hits from Drake now hold the #2 (“Nice”) and #3 (“Plan”) positions, respectively. Post Malone's "Psycho" featuring Ty Dolla $ign falls to #4. Meanwhile, "Look Alive" by BlocBoy JB and Drake sits at #7.

Childish Gambino (aka Donald Glover) debuted his “This Is America” song on the May 5 episode of Saturday Night Live. The Hiro Murai-directed visuals arrived on YouTube at midnight that Sunday.
