(AllHipHop News) "Right Thurr" hitmaker Chingy is one of the 2000s-era acts that's crisscrossing the country with B2K as part of the boy band's "The Millennium Tour." Before hitting the stage in New York, Chingy sat down with TwoBees host
The conversation included the St. Louis-bred rapper discussing the sexual, physical, and mental abuse allegations R. Kelly is currently facing. Chingy compared the R&B singer's highly-publicized alleged criminal activities to his own media firestorm involving a transgender woman named Sidney Starr falsely stating she was in a relationship with him.
"Why I compare the false allegations with me and this person who I didn't know with R. Kelly and his situation is because I've been in a situation where somebody's lying on me several times - no evidence - and it's being presented to the public as I've done something," said Chingy.
He added, "I relate to R. Kelly's situation in that way. From the standpoint of the media is saying this, but there's no evidence. I don't know if he did it or not. I just know they're trying to slander his name because he's R. Kelly and they're blowing the situation up very big to do it. That's the part I'm familiar with."
R. Kelly has been indicted on 10 counts of aggravated sexual abuse in Cook County, Illinois. The "Sex Me" vocalist is also said to be under investigation in other jurisdictions, and the Department of Homeland Security is supposedly inspecting possible sex trafficking crimes in connection with the 52-year-old Chicago native.
The latest scrutiny of Kelly came after Lifetime aired the Surviving R. Kelly documentary in January which included interviews with over 50 people who laid out three-decades of accusations against the B2K music producer. Surviving R. Kelly also focused on his annulled marriage to Aaliyah when he was 27 and she was 15, his 2008 child pornography trial, and his alleged sex cult. Kelly was acquitted in 2008 and maintains he is innocent of all present-day charges.
While the Cook County State's Attorney office claims to have enough evidence to prosecute Robert Kelly, Chingy had to deal with the Sidney Starr ordeal despite no credible proof ever being presented and the woman eventually admitting she lied about them being a couple. Chingy has stated he believes the rumors hurt his career. Starr went on to appear on VH1's Love & Hip Hop New York.
