"Choppa Style" Producer Sues To Get His Cut Of City Girls' Massive Hit "Twerk"

DJ JMK says Master P., Cardi B. and anyone on City Girls' song "Twerk" owes him some loot.

(AllHipHop News) A veteran producer of the New Orleans bounce style is waging war against some big-name rappers.

DJ JMK is suing Master P., Cardi B., City Girls, French Montana and Yo Gotti over the hit song "Twerk."

JMK says the posse of rappers used key elements of the original version of his song "Choppa Style" and incorporated it into "Twerk" without paying him.

DJ JMK recorded the original version of the song with Choppa before Master P. got his hands on the track and remade it into a smash hit single.

In a previous interview, DJ JMK said he owned as much as 30% of the song, which was a success around the world, thanks to Master P.'s business acumen with striking global publishing deals.

In addition to "Choppa Style," DJ JMK produced bounce classics like "Swing Yo Keys" by Kilo and “Walk Like Ronald” by Hot Boy Ronald.
