(AllHipHop News) Chris Brown has been in the national spotlight since he was teenager already topping music charts, and while much has been written about his career and personal life over the last decade it appears the Tappahannock, Virginia native still has more to share.
During an interview with The Guardian, the R&B singer talked about how the assault on his then girlfriend Rihanna in 2009 was a wake-up call.
"I wouldn't say it happened for a reason, but it was something to trigger my mind to be more of a mature adult. To handle myself in situations, don't throw tantrums, don't be a baby about it," said Brown.
When asked about whether he is the latest example of child stars who struggle to function as adults Brown responded, "I guess people could say that. But the only thing that's probably changed for me is just the facial hair a little bit. When I first came out, it was more of a young, warm, clean look. Very clean, very Disney."
In one of the most revealing exchanges in the interview, the "Love More" performer says he lost his virginity at eight years old to a teenage girl.
"By that point, we were already kind of like hot to trot, you know what I'm saying?" said Brown. "So, at eight, being able to do it, it kind of preps you for the long run, so you can be a beast at it. You can be the best at it."
Chris Brown's sixth studio album X is scheduled for release December 3rd.
