(AllHipHop News) Chris Rock and Dave Chappelle, two of the most successful comedians of all time, joined forces last night (February 27) at The Comedy Cellar in New York City, and the stand-up veterans teased the crowd with the news that they may be taking their two-for-one comedy show on tour together.
The Comic's Comic was in the house as Rock and Chappelle took the stage together. CC reports that what was originally a surprise 45-minute set by Chappelle became an even bigger shock when Rock joined him to perform.
"Aw, you lucky motherfu**ers ," Rock told the audience.
After the duo cracked on Kevin Hart, Prince, President Obama, and unsuccessfully tried to text Jay-Z about meeting later for spaghetti dinner, Chappelle suggested that the hour-long performance may be the perfect combination for an extended tour.
"This could be the show," said Chappelle.
"I'm in," responded Rock.
Chappelle continued with the prospect of a joint tour, and Rock mentioned that he is about to start working on a new film, but he may have some time to sneak in a Rock-Chappelle supershow.
"After next Tuesday, I'm free for like eleven years," joked Chappelle.
"I've got time between now and the movie," replied Rock. "By Halloween, I could do dates."
This is not the first time a Rock/Chappelle tour has been brought up.
Rumors began circulating in October of 2011 that the tour could happen, then in May of 2012 Rock spoke with New York magazine telling the publication, "I've been talking to Chappelle a lot. Been trying to get Chappelle to go on tour."
Without a formal announcement it is still just speculation whether last night's Rock-Chappelle routine was a preview to one of the biggest comedy tours in history or just a once in a lifetime experience.
